Den Meeting 08-03-11

Theme :"Law Enforcement is a Big Job"

In this Den Meeting, we discussed the role of police officers as well as the role of witnesses.
The Cub Scouts participated in a role-play game where they had to solve a fictitional crime using
fingerprints and the questioning of witnesses.
We also made a sheet of our own fingerprints.
Please have your Cub Scout complete Achievement 7c, 7d, 7e from their handbooks.  It is also available for download using the link below.

For the second half of our meeting, we learned how to use tools.  We used a hammer and screwdriver to put nails and screws into the provided wood blocks.  This was an important learning experience because we will utilize these skills at the next Den Meeting when each Cub Scout will build their own toolbox.

If your Cub Scout has not completed the requirements for the Bobcat Badge, please work with them to do so.  They must complete these requirements before they can work toward the Bear Badge.  The requirements can be found in the front of the Bear Handbook.
